How to use Merge command

How to use Merge command

To use merge command

  • 'Merge' is used to merge objects from other 3D Studio MAX files.

  • Select the file you want to merge.

  • Then this will show merge window.

  • Then you can select the object you want to merge

All/None: Select or clear the object-type check boxes when you are filtering your list.

Invert: Reverse your current list selections.

Display Subtree: Display the objects in the list in an indented format and enables the Sort and Select Subtree options. Clear this option to left-justify the list.

Select Subtree: When Display Subtree and this option are selected, all items indented below the selected one are also selected.

Case Sensitive: Distinguish between upper and lowercase for item names.

Sort: Allow you to sort the list on the left. If the Display Subtree check box is selected, these options are disabled.

Alphabetical: Sort from A at the top to Z at the bottom.

By Type: Sort by category, using the same order as the check boxes in List Types.

By Color: Sort by object wireframe color.

List Types: Determine which components in the scene are displayed in the list on the left: geometry, shapes, lights, cameras, helpers, and space warps.

Groups: Display only groups of objects. Groups are shown in brackets. If you turn off Groups display, only the group name is shown, in brackets. To merge an entire group, select the group and all its children.

All/None: Select all items or no items.

Invert: Reverse your current list display criteria. If groups were displayed, Invert will display items; if all items were displayed, Invert will deselect all items.
